WhatsApp has a tendency to introduce new features to the platform every now and then and while some of these new WhatsApp features are taking in with open arms, some of them turn out to be rather controversial. If a new report is to be believed, WhatsApp users will soon not be able to take screenshots of a chat on their smartphones.
Now, there are times when rather than telling someone about a chat we had on WhatsApp, we end up taking a screenshot of that chat and then send it to another user. While it is easy for us, there are some WhatsApp users who might think that it is a violation of their privacy. However, the option that WhatsApp has introduced in its latest beta version, does nothing to help the second category of users though.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, if a user enables this new feature, he or she won’t be able to take screenshots of a chat inside the app. This new WhatsApp feature has been spotted in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.19.106 update. On the other hand, it should be noted that despite the option being enabled on your device, other users will still be able to take screenshots of chats which include you. Confusing right! It is for us as well.
While WABetaInfo has also said that not many might like this new WhatsApp feature, he also notes the fact that since WhatsApp is already working on the Fingerprint Authentication feature for Android users, there seems no use of the new screenshot option as well. That said, when the option will be available for users of the stable WhatsApp app has still not been disclosed.

Other than this, the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.19.106 update comes with some improvements in the Fingerprint Authentication feature, however, it is still not available for WhatsApp beta for Android users. On the other hand, the beta update also reportedly brings a new Doodle UI and WhatsApp users will now see two separate tabs namely Stickers and Emoji. While the Stickers option will take you to first and third party stickers along with content stickers, they are also grouped under Favorites and Category.
