Nokia X71 with 48-megapixel rear camera and punch-hole display launched: price, specifications

After a barrage of leaks and rumours, the Nokia X71 smartphone is finally official. HMD Global, the license holder to make and sell Nokia devices, took the wraps off the handset at an event in Taiwan today. The Nokia X71 is the first device from the vendor with triple rear cameras and a punch-hole display for an intuitive viewing experience. Apart from that, it also boasts of a dual tone finish, glass-sandwich design, whopping 48-megapixel camera, and Android One. The phone is expected to launch as Nokia 6.2 aka Nokia 6 (2019) or Nokia 8.1 Plus globally.

Nokia X71 price

The Nokia X71 has been priced at NT$ 11,990, which roughly translates to Rs 26,999. It will go on sale in Taiwan starting from April 10th. There is no information about available colours, although in all product photos it appears in black. As of now, there’s no word on Nokia X71 India launch yet.

Talking about the specifications, the Nokia X71 ships with a 6.39-inch PureDisplay with full-HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Thanks to the selfie camera hole, the handset has an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 93 percent. The handset is driven by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE mobile platform paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB built-in storage, which can be further expandable up to 256GB by adding a microSD card.

The handset sports 2.5D on both sides and a metal frame inbetween and has a unique power button with LED flash. The back panel of the phone flaunts triple rear cameras at the center with a fingerprint sensor just below. For photography, the Nokia X71 rocks Zeiss certified 48-megapixel (f/1.8) primary sensor, paired with an 8-megapixel 120-degree super-wide angle lens, and a 5-megapixel sensor for depth effect on the rear. The front camera gets a 16-megapixel f/2.0 lens for selfies and video calling. The cameras are backed by AI scene recognition and are touted to shoot clear, bright, pure and low-noise photos in a variety of lowlight environments.
The Nokia X71 runs stock Android 9 Pie out of the box to take care of the software side of things. Since it’s an Android One device, it’ll get timely software upgrades directly from Google. On the battery front, the Nokia X71 houses a 3,500mAh battery with 18W fast charging tech. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Dual SIM Dual Standby 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, and USB Type C.
