ASUS will be unveiling the Zenfone 6 series on May 16th in Valencia, Spain. We expect them to unveil the Zenfone 6 and Zenfone 6Z smartphones on that day. There are already several leaks about these devices. Now, the Zenfone 6Z with the model number ‘ASUS I01WD’ got certified by FCC. The same device was already spotted on Geekbench and Bluetooth SIG. While not much information is revealed, the listing confirms the device to come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform built on 7nm FinFET node. This is the same chipset that also powers most of other flagship Android smartphones.
The device also comes with 18W fast charging support. On the rear, the Zenfone 6Z might sport triple camera setup along with a rectangular fingerprint scanner. Based on the leaks, we should be looking at a punch-hole display on the front. The company will be opting for the 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor as its primary camera on the rear. It will be available in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants with 64GB and 128GB storage options. With the Zenfone 6Z, we also expect ASUS to release the all-new ZenUI 6.0 based on the latest Android 9.0 Pie.
Though the company already released the Android 9.0 Pie OTA update for a few Zenfone devices, they are still on the ZenUI 5.0 with not many visual differences. The Antutu’s Weibo handle mentioned the Zenfone 6Z overall Antutu score as 363,172. It comes with a Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) display and will offer 48MP cameras both on the front and rear. Just like its predecessor, the company should launch the Zenfone 6Z at a very aggressive price. At the time of its launch, the Zenfone 5Z is the most affordable Snapdragon 845- powered smartphone.Image result for Asus
Even though Xiaomi later came up with POCO F1 powered by Snapdragon 845 at a much more cheaper price, it compromised on several other aspects to keep the price low. The newly leaked image showed the Zenfone 6Z in a glass back body with gradient color finish. Last year’s Zenfone 5Z came with a 6.2-inch IPS display with Full HD+ (2246 × 1080 pixels) resolution. It even offered the MicroSD card slot option using the hybrid SIM slot for storage expansion. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details about the upcoming Zenfone smartphone!
